The Scourge of the Beast
Yharnam is overrun with an endemic illness known as the Scourge of the Beast. Victims of the Scourge first lose their minds, and then their bodies. They become demented and crazed, their body beginning to take unnatural proportions. When their mind is gone, they lose all trace of humanity, becoming what can only be described as a beast. It is not confirmed, but it seems likely that the Scourge of the Beast comes from being transfused with Yharnam Blood.
